Rabbi Joseph Breuer , following the tradition of his grandfather Rav Samson Raphael Hirsch, had a very specific and revolutionary approach to the study of Nevi’im . In many traditional yeshivas of that era, the focus was almost exclusively on the Talmud, but the “Breuer/Hirsch” school insisted that a Jew cannot be complete without a deep, intellectual mastery of Tanakh
